Good grammar is important to use everywhere. Here are 5
examples of bad grammar, examples will help teach you
what good grammar looks like.

1. Are you going on they’re boat?- They’re is wrong, it should be their. They’re
means they are and their shows possession. I think the effect of this in the writing is
that it makes the sentence improper and doesn’t make sense. It could also confuse
people because of the meaning of the word. 2.”This is to let you know that our
lavatory seat is broke and we can't get BBC 2.”- Broke is wrong in this sentence it
should be broken. This mistake effects the writing by taking away some of the
seriousness in the announcement. 3. ‘Let’s eat Grandma!’- It should be “Let’s eat,
Grandma!”.Th effect of this mistake in writing is making it seem like you are going to
eat grandma but really you are saying to her “lets eat”. Punctuation such as comas
help separate thoughts, like in this sentence. 4. I seen you yesterday. - It should be
"I saw you yesterday.” The effect of this mistake on the writing makes it sound
uneducated and lazy. 5. "For more information 313-987-6543.” - This is a common
mistake on commercials or announcements, they forgot to put in the verb. The
effect this has on the writing is that it can be confusing or not make much sense. It
also helps to get your point across when you tell what you want someone to do with
the phone number.

I hope these examples help you with your grammar.
